At the core of Kaufman Astoria are seven column-free stages including a mammoth 26,000 square foot stage – the largest east of Hollywood. Our newest addition is Stage K with over 18, 000 square feet. In addition, there are two stages over 12,000 square feet each, and smaller stages of 8,000, 4,000 and 3,000 square feet. Support facilities are located just steps from each stage for efficient flow of crew and materials.
In addition to offices for productions shooting at the studio, Kaufman Astoria also provides office space for projects not directly affiliated with current productions.
Featuring the new David Rockwell-designed gate, the 34,800 square-foot backlot hosts a dramatically lit steel truss that rises 40 feet above the street that serves as a working catwalk for productions. The backlot will allow productions to create outdoor sets and shoot special effects shots on the studio site. It is conveniently located adjacent to the sound stages, which allow for easy access to support spaces, dressing rooms, building workshops and production offices.
All stages qualify for state tax credit.
